I don’t get it. Why all the fuss about the Ruffian nail? The fact that I don’t understand grown women acting like a bunch of giddy teenagers about a tray of fake nails could very well be sign of impending senility on my part. But, I don’t.
Yes, the collaboration between MAC and the Ruffian designers has produced gorgeous, miniature works of art. I get that. The nails are beautiful and elegant. The classic half moon design which has become the Ruffian signature is timeless and dare I say it, ageless.
Press on nails have been around since the early 80′s when some industrious soul came up with the ingenius idea to package them, complete with a tiny strip of tape that was supposed to make them stay on. (snicker)
Why all the fuss? Leave a comment and – enlighten me.
For all of you die hard Ruffianados, here’s a video uploaded by MAC cosmetics showing the uber talented New York designing duo of Ruffian, Brian Wolk and Claude Morais telling how the lovely little works of nail art came to be. Enjoy!
