Famous Hair Stylist And Fashion Icon, Dead At 84
Vidal Sassoon passed away in his Mulholland Drive Home with his family was by his side. . His death has been attributed to natural causes. Sources say Sassoon was known to have leukemia.
The hair stylist pioneered the wash and wear hair styles of the 1950s and 1960s that were based on architectural design, and consisted of sharp angles and geometric shapes. One of the first hair stylist to consider the client’s bone structure when cutting the hair, Vidal Sassoon was famous for what he called the “five point cut” – a super shot, sleek style with a W cut at the nape of the neck and a point in front of each ear. That was the cut that started my love affair with short hair.
The 5 Point Cut
Anyone who’s old enough will surely remember the commercials that made the Sassoon Hair Products so successful. They showed a young woman with beautiful, silky, luxurious hair. She was joined by a handsome, young Vidal who said,
“If you don’t look good, we don’t look good.”
Live Beautifully!
