The last time I received an Influenster VoxBox, it was the Mom box, which was cool because in addition to being a Fabulicious Diva, :) I am a Mom.  But the only product from that box that I was able to review here at GiaVanne’s was the imPress Press On Nails.

This time however, I was selected to receive the Beauty Bloggers VoxBox.  A box filled with beauty products for me to use and review…Oh Joy! One of the things I love most about these boxes is that the contents are never revealed ahead of time. So you don’t know what you’re getting until the box arrives. Here’s my haul!

Beauty Bloggers VoxBox 2012 Contents:

Beauty Voxbox.Giavanne.com

  • NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Compact – (0156-08 Dark Shadows)
  • Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit
  • Bath & Body Works Mini Candle – (Pumpkin Cupcake)
  • Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Creme
  • Eboost
  • Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin
  • Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm
  • Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Night Creme

The beauty products, specifically the Eye Shadow Compact, Pro Lashes and No.7 Beautiful Skin products will be reviewed shortly in individual posts. This will allow me to focus each review exclusively on a specific item. It’s easier for me and probably makes for a more enjoyable reading experience for you. At least I hope it does.

In this post I’ll  discuss the other four items.

-Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

Beauty Voxbox.Giavanne.com

Retail $7.95 - The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin allows you to easily achieve three chic updo styles.

The Spin Pins are flexible, well constructed and actually heavier than they look. Inside of the box, you’ll find a style guide with these cute little photos of three different buns with fancy names, that you can create with these twirly pins:

  1. Soft Spin – Flou Chignon
  2. Soft Side Spin – Chignon Flou Lateral
  3. Double Spin – Chignon Double

Giavanne.com

Okay, my experience: Extreme disappointment :(  Why?

Because in order to give a proper review of this product,

one has to have enough hair to put in a bun. I don’t… :)

But if I did…I would use them… i think.

-Not Your Mother’s * Kinky Moves * Curl Defining Hair Creme

Beauty Voxbox.Giavanne.com

Retail $6.00 for a full sized 4-oz bottle. Kinky Moves is infused with natural grape seed & jasmine to encourage natural  curls and eliminate frizz and fly-aways.

The tube I received contains 1.5-oz. of  the creme. It’s non-greasy and has the most wonderful smell. But…The directions state this product should be applied liberally after hair has been shampooed and towel dried.

“Distribute evenly from root to tip, Scrunch curls and style as desired, then blow dry upside down or air dry to reveal smooth long lasting curls all day long.

Hah, hah, tee hee, (snort), giggle giggle.  To be fair, I did put it in my hair minus the scrunching and upside down drying. It felt soft and smelled lovely but the sheen was missing, so even though it was soft, it looked dull.

-Bath & Body Works Mini Candle

Beauty Voxbox.Giavanne.com

Retail $3.00 - Mini but mighty! Bath & Body Works Mini Candles provide an amazing fragrance experience exclusively developed and tested by a team of Home Fragrance experts.

Apologies for the poor quality of this photo. I think I moved, but I’d much rather blame it on  more magnification than the little candle could stand. Before I go any further with this review, I have to tell you I have been burning BBW candles for years and I would recommend their Slatkin & Co. brand – not every scent – but the overall brand is a good one.

The flavor of this Bath & Body Works Mini candle is Pumpkin Cupcake, which sounds like some stomach churning, icky sweetness. But it actually has a very pleasant scent. In fact, I have it burning now and I like it. I don’t think that I would ever buy it because BBW has several scents that I absolutely  love and purchase regularly.

I also got a coupon good for $10 toward the purchase of a full size  3 Wick Candle. Woo Hoo!  I will definitely use it.

-Eboost

Beauty Voxbox.Giavanne.com

Retail $28 for box of 20 effervescent powders, $39 for a box of 30 effervescent powders, $39 for box of 12 shots. “EBOOST is a proprietary formula of vitamins, minerals and super nutrients. EBOOST will boost your mood, focus and immunity with natural ingredients and no crash.”

I have no idea if this product lives up to its claims as I haven’t tried it, nor will I try it in the future. I’m very suspicious of so called “energy drinks of any kind. Some of you may recall a post I wrote previously titled  Why You Should Stay Away From Sports Energy Drinks. So.. Thanks but no thanks.

Live Beautifully!
