I have a terrible habit of checking to see what or who is trending on Yahoo whenever I access my email account. Once in a while the list has a news item or name that interests me, but usually it’s just a bunch of foolishness. Most of the real news will hit Twitter first, then filter down to the trending lists.
Today, Queen Latifah was on the list and I couldn’t resist. I’ve been a fan of the Queen for a long time.
And what to my wandering eyes should appear?
Nothing! Nada! Zip!
It was the same old song we’ve been hearing since forever and I’m still not understanding why people are so concerned with her sexual preferences. Or the sexual preferences of any other person for that matter.
Apparently, Queen Latifah made a recent appearance at the LGBT Pride Festival in Long Beach California and tongues started wagging again. The speculation regarding her sexuality has been going on so long that at this point I have to ask: Why? How does the answer to that question affect the lives of the questioners? I’ve never understood the desire to know details of another’s personal life.
I’m not talking about entertainers behaving like idiots. They deserve what they get. I’m speaking strictly…Personal, as in who they sleep (have sex) with.
I’ve heard and read all of the stupid reasons that have been given in an attempt to justify violating another human being. None of them hold water, but, “It comes with the territory,” is probably the most despicable. What “territory” are they talking about? Is there a territory called, “Entertainers are not allowed privacy?” Most of them are hard working, law abiding, tax paying citizens.
Lines should be drawn and as long as an adult is not sleeping with children, they should be afforded the right to privacy.

Just roll your eyes, babe, just roll your eyes. I never got to the point where I check Twitter trends kasi I stopped at Yahoo! I used to check who’s on the top 10.
But you raised a good point there, na how does the question change the lives of the questioners? Why do they even have to bother? Are their lives boring or left at the back burner? This post made me think, kasi lately I’ve been a benchwarmer in life, which is kind of getting old.
I love showbiz too so I care and I am happy for her

and not only that, but people nowadays make their being a celebrity an excuse to snoop around. anyway the truth is yes they are entertainers adn people look to be entertained, so i guess she jus thave to be careful

That’s how they are in media showbiz. Good or bad publicity is still publicity. Like it or not, they are public figures…which is probably why high profile figures should be more wary or cautious of what they do. But really, some media personnel go overboard…the more sensational, the better for them.

You know we have the same sentiment. We don’t have any right to speculate on her sexual preferences. She’s a grown woman who is not doing anything to harm anyone around her. She’s a talented actor and music artist. I think that’s enough

Exactly! So if and when it’s confirmed someone is going to say, “I knew it!” And then, “Now what?” I am a fan too so confirmation is going to stop me from liking her. I have been disappointed in personal choices that people have made such as Morgan Freeman but my detest only lasted until the next movie they made.
Same sentiment! I also don’t care about who they sleep with as long as they are good in their craft (acting/singing whatever).
Just a quick note… there is this bar in the middle of your page where icons like fb, tweeter, g+, print it etc. appears. It looks like a counter and I’m not sure whether it’s appearing only on my screen. I couldn’t read the whole post because it’s covering the article. Even when I was writing this comment, I couldn’t read part of what I’m writing. I hope you can put that to the side. Thanks. I hope you take it as a constructive note.
